Modeling human neurodevelopmental disorders with 3D brain organoid

Brain organoids are human pluripotent stem cell–derived 3D tissues that self-assemble into organized structures resembling the fetal human brain. Unlike conventional 2D cell cultures, organoids resemble embryonic organs, not only at the cellular level, but also in architecture and developmental trajectory, therefore providing a unique opportunity to model human organogenesis.
